TAW (Total Available Water)

The total amount of water stored in the soil between field capacity and permanent wilting point that is available to plants.

    The upper layer of earth consisting of mineral particles, organic matter, water, and air, essential for plant growth and ecosystems.

  • Field capacity

    The amount of water soil holds after excess water drains away, representing the upper limit of plant-available water.

  • Permanent wilting point

    The soil moisture level at which plants can no longer extract water, leading to irreversible wilting.
