The underexploited wealth of wild Mediterranean plants |
To support uptake of project results beyond the pilot sites, the consortium developed a set of practitioner-oriented guidebook materials that translate research outputs into implementable, measurable actions for Mediterranean land restoration. The guidebook content was intentionally positioned neither as a conventional scientific report nor as a showcase brochure, but as a working manual aimed at turning project knowledge into practical momentum for those responsible for delivery at scale. |

From Storytelling to Sustainable Landscapes: Linking COST action "SMILES" and REACT4MED Through a Children’s Comic |
The SMILES Comic Book: Ecosystem Services Treasure Hunting in the European Islands uses storytelling to help children understand climate change and ecosystem services. Featuring real island landscapes, it highlights how nature supports daily life while introducing concepts central to REACT4MED, such as terracing, soil conservation, and climate resilience. By linking scientific knowledge with engaging narratives, the comic fosters environmental awareness and supports sustainable Mediterranean futures. |

A Final Reunion for the REACT4MED Family |
At INRA Morocco, our REACT4MED team gathers for one last that feels warm, reflective, and bittersweet. Colleagues from different universities stand together one last time, celebrating shared achievements and the collaborative spirit that shaped our journey. As we say goodbye, this photo becomes a lasting reminder of the friendships formed, the knowledge built, and the commitment that will continue guiding our Mediterranean resilience work long after we part ways. |

Final Outreach event of REACT4MED |
The final outreach phase of REACT4MED unfolded through Ecosystem Restoration Living Lab workshops held from June to October 2025 across Mediterranean pilot sites. These events acted as the project’s capstone knowledge exchange platform, engaging farmers, researchers, policymakers, and NGOs. Beyond presenting scientific results, the workshops validated tools, gathered stakeholder feedback, and strengthened regional networks, ensuring that REACT4MED’s impact extends beyond publication toward long‑term adoption and collaborative Mediterranean restoration efforts. |

REACT4MED created pilot‑area factsheets to provide farmers and land managers with clear, practical guidance for implementing restoration practices. They summarise baseline conditions, chosen measures, and early results in a simple, comparable format, translating living‑lab insights into hands‑on instructions that support real‑world land management across Mediterranean pilot sites. |
